Higher Calling Ministries
Pastor Andre B. Sykes
Pastor Andre Sykes is the son of the Late Mary Lou Sykes and is a native of Salisbury, Maryland. He is the second eldest of five children. He received his formal education in the Wicomico County Public School Systems. He received his Associates Degree in Biblical Studies and his Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from the Logos Bible College.
As a young man not understanding life, he got caught up with the wrong things, and sometimes went around the wrong people. Now looking back. Although they were the wrong things and the wrong people, all things work together for the good! Each incident has brought him to this point and has helped to make him who he is.
As of today, after giving his life to the Lord over twenty years ago, falling in love with the Lord came easy after realizing what he had done for him.
Because Christ was now living inside of him, he desired to increase my knowledge of the word of God; he received an associate degree in Biblical studies and later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. Getting to know God through His word and following His guidance and direction, he was ordained an Elder under the guidance of Apostle Catherine A. Camper. Now as called by God, he is honored to now serve as a Pastor. By the Leading of the Holy Spirit, he founded Higher Calling of Princess Anne on April 24 2011.
Pastor Sykes is a true teacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; His passion is study and teach the word of God in season and out of season. His love for those who are loss compels him to endeavor to live a dedicated life unto the Lord.
Pastor Sykes a gracious, humble servant of the Lord says that he was chosen to Serve and Not to Be Served. He places God first in all that he does as a disciple and a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In addition to pastoring Higher Calling Ministries, he is also the owner of A.B.S. Creative Landscaping. He is married to Lady Gail Sykes and is the father of five children, Nicolas, Chari, Christina, Sabrina, and Ray and is the grandfather of two, Jaelyn and Malasia. He has 1 Son-in-law, Gregory Martin.

First Lady Gail A. Sykes
Lady Gail Sykes is a native of Princess Anne Maryland and is the youngest daughter of Emma James and the late Samuel James, Sr. She was also nurtured and loved by her 6 brothers and sisters, Sandra, Mary Louise, Samuel, Jr. Dale, Maurice and Patricia.
As a child, she was told by her Mother, Emma James, and her Grandmother, the late Maize Johnson, that she was special, and that hand of God was on her life. Psalm 23 was the first scripture she would learn to recite when she was 8 years old, because her mother would read it to her every day. She and her brothers and sisters were taught to love and know the Lord. Not really understanding what it was then, she loved sitting at her mother and grandmother’s feet listening to them as they read the bible and sang hymns. Even then, she remembered those words, “The call of God is on your life”. At the age of 12 at Mt. Hope A.M.E. Zion Church’s Prayer service, she accepted Christ as her personal savior and was taught the ways of Holiness under the leadership of Bishop Weldon Johnson. The Hand of God was upon her life, Singing is what she has always loved to do for Christ, closing her eyes as she sang unto God, took her into His Holy Presence, Seeing Only Him and Giving All Glory and Honor Unto Him. In 1995, she began to experience God in a more intimate way, He beckoned for her total heart, and she answered the call. Yes Lord, I will use my voice, my heart, my spirit, my love, and words of life to encourage and reach the masses and compel them to come to know you as their personal savior. The Hand of God was truly on her life.
Lady Gail graduated from Washington High School in 1983 and continued her education at Wor-Wic Community College earning an Associate of Arts Degree in Secretarial Studies in 1986. She earned her B.S. Degree in Business Administration from UMES in 1999 and M.S. Degree in Human Resource Management from Wilmington University in 2005.
On April 24, 2011, she answered a greater call, to walk side by side with her husband, Pastor Andre Sykes, to serve in full-time ministry at Higher Calling Ministries in Princess Anne, MD.
Her love for the Lord Has Intensified, Her Commitment to Christ is sealed knowing that only What She Does for Christ Will Last, and if she can help somebody as she passes along, then her living will not be in vain.
Lady Gail is married to Pastor Andre Sykes, they are the parents of 5 children Nicolas, Chari, Chris, Sabrina and Ray. She is a grandmother of 2, Jaylen and Malaysia and Mother-in-Law of 1 son, Gregory Martin.
